SILLY GOOSE Launches GoFundMe To Aid Vocalist’s Legal Bills

Nü-metal revivalists Silly Goose are turning to fans for support after vocalist Jackson Foster was arrested for criminal trespassing during one of the band’s trademark guerrilla performances — this time in the parking lot of a BP gas station in Chicago. The band has launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover legal fees and hire an attorney, with the goal of clearing Foster‘s record to avoid complications when touring internationally.

Fresh off their performance at Lollapalooza in Chicago on July 31, Silly Goose decided to keep the momentum going with an impromptu show atop their van in the BP parking lot just outside the festival grounds. According to Foster, the band had permission from the station manager, who agreed to let them play for an hour in front of gas pumps two and four in exchange for $100.

Despite the agreement, police arrived mid-performance. The band immediately stopped playing, but Foster says he was handcuffed on the spot and taken to jail without much explanation. He spent the night in custody before being released with a criminal trespass charge. Foster is seeking $8,000 and you can donate to that effort right here.

“My name is Jackson Foster and I’m the vocalist of Silly Goose,” wrote Foster on the GoFundMe page. “On Thursday, July 31st we played Lollapalooza and it was legendary. Then on Saturday night after lollapalooza, we played a show on top of our van at the BP outside the festival to continue to raise awareness for our upcoming record Keys To The City. We had received permission from the manager and we had even done the same thing the previous year.

“He was going to let us play in front of gas pump 2 and 4 for one hour in exchange for $100. All of a sudden the cops showed up and that didn’t seem to matter. Nobody got hurt, we were just playing music, and when the cops got there, we stopped playing. I got off of the van and was immediately put in handcuffs and brought to jail with little to no explanation.

“I spent the night in jail and received a criminal trespass charge. After speaking with my team, this is the amount of money we predict that we will need for legal fees and hiring an attorney. It is crucial we get this charge off of my record so that we can tour overseas in the future. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!”
